Pyelonephritis Patients Must Care Their Diet2018-12-11 08:52
To most pyelonephritis patients they should take care of something in daily life, the diet is one of most important issue for them to be cautioned, and i will show you the diet for them as following:
1, High salt and high sodium food
Patients with edema and hypertension should adopt a low-salt and salt-free diet. A low-salt diet usually uses less than 3 grams of salt or 10 – 15 milliliters of soy sauce per day. All foods containing more salt should be avoided, such as pickles, pickles, preserved eggs, preserved meat, seafood, dried noodles, etc. The salt-free diet does not add salt or soy sauce when cooking, but can be flavored with sugar, vinegar, sesame paste and ketchup.
2. Excessive protein
The incidence of pyelonephritis leads to a decrease in glomerular filtration rate, resulting in transient azotemia. Therefore, the protein diet should be restricted, and high-quality protein foods such as milk, eggs, lean meat and fish should be selected within the restricted range. When the condition improves, the urine volume increases and the daily urine volume is more than 1000ml, the protein intake can be gradually increased. But not more than 0.8g / kg body weight per day.
3, Too much high potassium food
When oliguria, anuria or blood potassium increase occurs, limit potassium-rich vegetables and fruits such as bean sprouts, leeks, green garlic, celery, cauliflower, Chinese toon, spinach, bamboo shoots, lilies, dried red dates, fresh mushrooms, laver, pickled mustard greens, Sichuan winter vegetables, winter mushrooms, apricots, lotus roots, sorghum, corn, lentils, tomatoes, loofah, balsam pear, etc. Limit fluid intake should be controlled according to the patient’s daily urine volume. The common water supplement is 500 – 1000 ml of liquid in addition to the same amount of urine discharged the previous day.
